My client are currently hiring for a Creative Pattern Cutter to cover the maternity leave for 12-14 months. I am looking for an experienced Creative Pattern Cutter, who has at least 5 years' experience working in Luxury Fashion with good tailoring knowledge.

* The interpretation of designs into wearable garments.
* Working within an agreed critical path on multiple patterns for each collection
* Attending fit sessions and ensuring accurate implementation of comments into patterns following fit sessions.

* Responsibility for the e-mailing of patterns and manufacturing specifications to factories & for maintaining accurate records of all information distributed.
* Please note that we have a garment tech, this role is pattern cutting and grading.

Candidates applying for this role should have:

  • A passion to create great garments.
  • A relevant qualification gained from a recognised institute.
  • Ability to develop first patterns from design illustrations.
  • Knowledge of any computer aided pattern software
  • Strong technical knowledge of structured garment construction and tailored garments.

* Build and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant suppliers and manufacturers.
* Manage the development of junior members of the development team. Actively advising and assisting their development.

Hand over to Production:
* Leading the costing reviews ahead of the Production Handovers to ensure all information is correct in tech packs and Zedonk. Ensuring a clean and precise handover to production.
* Attending all production handovers related to relevant product.
* Checking and ensuring all information passed to the production team is 100% accurate and up to date in time with set deadlines.
* Clearly communicating to the Production Team any difficulty encountered with each style and outlining why pieces were placed with specific manufacturers or made in-house.
* Where issues do arise in Production; actively participate in problem solving to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.

My client looking for a candidate to co-ordinate the product development process, from enquiring about new fabrics to preparing tech packs for factory samples. The Sampling & Development Coordinator will have the chance to work within a fast paced close knit team and will be ready to get stuck in working with all sectors of the brand.

Key Duties:

  • Make fabric enquiries and place all fabric orders for sampling across 4 ready-to-wear collections / year, plus additional capsules.
  • Update production software (Zedonk) with all new season sampling orders.
  • Create seasonal range plan
  • Create and manage sampling fabric inventory
  • Assist with new season fabric and trim research and development.
  • Maintain and set up new season tech packs for factory samples.
  • Prepare sample packs for new season factory samples, liaising directly with factories to ensure that they are delivered on time and in line with the critical path.
  • Process all product development invoices.
  • Partake in seasonal quality controlling to ensure that final bulk production is finished in line with approved samples and up to the company standard.
  • Ensure the correct fit is achieved and all comments are relayed accurately in a timely manner to all departments and external vendors.
  • Attend and organise all fittings, working closely on pre-costing and final pricing to ensure the design is delivered on time & within budget.


Candidate Requirements:

Degree in Fashion Design (or equivalent) with a solid understanding of garment construction

Previous experience in a start up environment (preferred)

Understanding of pattern cutting and ability to accurately measure garments.

Ability to multitask and plan under pressure.
